A resident of Tambov twice deceived a person for 2.6 million rubles

The Soviet district court of Tambov convicted a local resident found guilty of embezzling money by deception.

As established during the trial, in the period from August to October 2020, the defendant under the pretext of obtaining a loan misled the victim and received from him 1,660,000 rubles. Having no intention to repay the debt, the man stole these funds and disposed of them at his discretion, causing damage in an especially large amount.

Later, in April 2021, the attacker again deceived the same victim, receiving a million dollars. As a guarantee of return, he promised to pledge a car that did not actually belong to him. The money was not returned, the vehicle was also not transferred - the defendant disposed of the funds received at his discretion, causing damage on a large scale.

The actions of the defendant are classified as fraud on an especially large scale.

On a set of crimes, the court imposed a punishment of three years imprisonment with serving in a general regime correctional colony.

Civil claims of victims were fully satisfied.

The sentence has not yet entered into force and can be appealed.
