Nalchik hosted events dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of the first President of the Republic Valery Kokov. At the monument to the statesman, installed in front of the main building of the Kabardino-Balkar State Agrarian University, a rally was held, after which the participants laid flowers at the monument.
The event was attended by the head of the region Kazbek Kokov, family members Valery Mukhamedovich, heads of parliament and the government of the republic, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of judicial and law enforcement agencies, leaders of traditional faiths, elders, public and youth activists, teachers, university students and hundreds of residents of Nalchik.
The main historical merit of the first President is the prevention of civil confrontation and the preservation of interethnic and interfaith harmony. In the era of large-scale upheavals, Valery Mukhamedovich managed to protect the region from conflicts, preserving the inviolable unity of the peoples of Kabardino-Balkaria and the dedication of the all-Russian statehood, the report says.
Commemorative actions dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the first President of the CBD are held these days in all districts and cities of the republic.
