Residents of the Murmansk region began to take 11% less car loans
In September 2026, residents of the Murmansk region issued about 500 car loans - 11% less than in the same period last year

In September 2026, residents of the Murmansk region issued about 500 car loans - 11% less than in the same period last year. This is reported by RBC Murmansk with reference to the data of the National Bureau of Credit Histories (NBKI).
A year earlier, in September 2025, the region issued 560 loans for the purchase of new cars and used cars.
The decline in demand for car loans is observed in Russia as a whole. In September, Russians issued 102.4 thousand such loans - 13% less than a year earlier. Most loans were issued in Moscow, the Moscow region and Tatarstan. However, the number of car loans has decreased.
According to the NBKI, in the last six months in Russia issued about 100 thousand car loans. Among the reasons, experts call high interest rates, rising car prices and cautious policy of banks. Credit institutions maintain strict requirements for borrowers to reduce the risk of delays.
In the Murmansk region, a decrease in the issuance of car loans is noted throughout 2026. At the beginning of the year, demand was affected by high rates, and in the spring both the number of loans and the volume of issuances decreased.
At the same time, by the end of the first half of the year, interest in new cars grew. Among the possible reasons, analysts called a decrease in the cost of new cars and an increase in the share of Russian manufacturers in the market.
Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” reported that the owners of Porsche in Murmansk warned about the risk of detachment of the wheel on the go.
