The theme was “The Man Who Lost Himself.” They talked and argued about the purpose of a person, life choices, loneliness, the search for the meaning of life.
And the starting point was the works of Russian classics – the story of Leo Tolstoy “The Death of Ivan Ilyich” and the fairy tale of Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin “The Wise Sandman”. One of the main questions of the meeting was thinking about how a person can live a seemingly prosperous and successful life, but at the same time never find himself.
The meeting was held by the head of the Missionary Department of the Vyborg diocese, master of theology, culturologist priest Mikhail Kotov. And the literary club itself is a joint project of the Vyborg diocese and library. It is implemented with the assistance of the Synodal Missionary Department of the Russian Orthodox Church.
