Residents of Komi became aware that scientists have created a new composition for embolizing blood vessels. It contains a contrast component, so it is clearly visible on X-rays, and does not require preparation before the procedure.

Embolization is a procedure in which blood flow in a vessel is blocked through a catheter. The method is used for internal bleeding, to stop feeding tumors and to close abnormal vascular compounds.

In the new composition, iodine is bound to the active substance molecules, which provides stable visibility and allows the introduction of the material without a time limit.
