Residents of Saransk were reminded of actions in a sudden meeting with a bear
The behavior of the beast is difficult to predict, it is important to act quickly and decisively.

The main rule is to remain calm and not to panic. In no case should you turn your back on the predator and try to escape: the instinct of persecution will make the beast rush into pursuit, and it is almost impossible to catch up with him.
If the bear notices you, but does not show obvious aggression, slowly step back, keeping an eye on it, but avoiding direct eye contact - for the animal this can be perceived as a challenge. Talk to him in a calm, confident, low voice. This will help the beast to understand that it is a man, not prey.
If the animal began to approach, try to visually increase your size: raise a jacket, backpack or open an umbrella above your head. If a bear stands on its hind legs, it does not necessarily prepare for an attack – most often it tries to better see the object and catch the smell. At this point, it is important not to make sudden movements.
In case an attack is inevitable, experts recommend using any available means for protection or, if a collision occurs, curl up in a tight tangle, protecting the neck and head with your hands.
Remember, the best tactic is to avoid an encounter. While in the forest, try to make noise, talk or sing, so as not to catch the beast by surprise. If you find traces of the life of a bear, the remains of prey or feel a sharp smell of falling - immediately leave the area in the same way that you came.
If wild animals are found near settlements, it is necessary to immediately report this to the emergency services on 112.
