In the KHL there was the first coaching resignation in the new season

Togliatti Lada after seven defeats in a row announced the dismissal of head coach Pavel Zubov, who led the team since June, according to the website of the KHL club.

In total, Lada since the beginning of the season has won only one match out of 12 and scored five points, it is tenth out of 11 in the Western Conference.

The head coach will be Igor Gorbenko.

The Togliatti club will play their next match at home against the Shanghai Dregons on Monday.

Zubov, a pupil and former defender of Lada, became the champion of Russia with the team in 1994 and 1996. As a coach, he worked in the Belarusian Metallurg (Zhlobin), Novosibirsk Siberia, Yaroslavl Lokomotiv and Kazan Ak Bars, the Ryazan-VDV VHL club.
