The best players of the week were the goalkeeper of Metallurg Smolin, forward SKA Plotnikov, defender of Barys Day and 21-year-old player of Salavat Yulaev Zagreb
Metallurg goalkeeper Alexander Smolin, who won both matches last week, was recognized as the best player of his role in the KHL, the press service of the league reported.
22-year-old Smolin defended the goal of the Magnitogorsk team in matches with Moscow “Spartak” (2: 0) and Omsk “Vanguard” (5: 1), reflecting 44 of 45 shots.
Among the defenders, the best recognized American Logan Day from the Astana “Barys”, who made six assists in three matches, including an assistant hat-trick in the game with “Spartak” (4: 3 after the bullies).
The best forward was Sergey Plotnikov, who recorded two goals and three assists in two matches for the St. Petersburg SKA.
Another striker, 21-year-old Maxim Zagrebin from Ufa “Salavat Yulaev”, made two goal “assist” in three matches and became the best rookie.
Metallurg leads in the summary table of the KHL championship, SKA is fourth in the Western Conference, Barys and Salavat Yulaev occupy fourth and fifth places respectively in the Eastern Conference.
