The first racket of the world Sinner announced the early end of the season
Italian tennis player has not played since Wimbledon due to knee injury

Italian tennis player Yannick Sinner will no longer play this season due to knee problems. He reported this on the social network X.
My doctors and I have decided that I need a knee treatment, which means that the 2026 season is officially over for me. The last couple of years, especially the Final Tournament in Turin, have given me so many beautiful feelings and emotions; this year will be very different. But now I have to think about the long term of my career. So I will do my best to get back in line at 100 percent, Sinner said in the video.
The 25-year-old has not been on the court since July 12, when he beat Alexander Zverev of Germany in the Wimbledon final and won the fifth Grand Slam title of his career. The Italian also missed the US Open.
Sinner resumed training in mid-August after returning from Turin, where he underwent a two-week course of shock wave therapy for inflammation in his right knee, but did not return to tournaments there.
The captain of the Italian team in the Davis Cup Filippo Volandri in late September said that Sinner is actively training and his load is gradually increasing. "Judging by the information I have, he is training and in good shape, he is able to demonstrate the high level of competitiveness to which we are accustomed," Volandri said.
Corriere della Sera wrote last week that Sinner had finished training early in Monte Carlo with the words: "Enough, I can't do it anymore." La Gazzetta dello Sport reported that the Italian visited in Lyon one of the leading surgeons specializing in knee injuries, and Bertrand Sonnery-Cotte recommended that he not have surgery, and continue conservative treatment.
