One of the leaders of the KHL suspended the coach because of the conflict with the players

“Metallurg” decided to suspend from the work of the head coach Andrei Razin. This was reported by the press service of the Magnitogorsk club KHL.

Acting head coach appointed Vladimir Vorobyov.

“The internal team situation is really being discussed and we are not going to hide it. There were disagreements between the head coach and the players - both on game issues and on the nature of interaction. This is a normal practice of professional sports: the coach has the right to determine the requirements for players, the players have the right to express their position. The problem arose when these differences ceased to be resolved within the team and began to affect the working climate. The club took this into account and intervened, Metallurg director Alexei Zhloba said.

According to Zhloba, an agreement could not be reached, which left no room for compromise. This is not a final verdict, but a management decision that allows us to stop the escalation and assess the situation without pressure from outside. We have already held talks with the players and the coaching staff, explained the logic of the decision. Now it is important that the team and the coaching staff focus on the game and achieving the sporting task, and not be distracted by near-sport topics, added Zhloba.
