Five-time Ballon d'Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo is not going to return to Portugal while it is headed by Jorge Jesos. CNN Portugal reports.

“He is extremely unhappy. He was particularly indignant at the words of Georges Jesouch. He stopped believing in the sincerity of the coach: on the one hand, he expresses his desire to return Ronaldo, and on the other, he emphasizes that no one needs to apologize, said journalist Rui Santos.

41-year-old captain of the national team of Portugal Ronaldo on September 30 left the location of the national team the day before the match of the League of Nations against Denmark (4: 2). This happened due to a conflict with the head coach of the national team Georges Jesouch. In the previous match against Norway, Ronaldo was on the bench for the first time in a long time. 30 minutes before the end, Jesos sent Ronaldo to warm up, but, to the player’s surprise, he did not release him on the field.

As a result, Ronaldo left the team after the coach said at a press conference that “the player did not play against Norway and will not play against Denmark.” He added: “In due course he will tell the truth to the Portuguese people.” Later, the newspaper O Jogo reported that he had made the final decision to retire from the national team. Jesos himself expressed hope that the country will support him against the background of the conflict with Ronaldo, and also said that he is ready to return the player to the national team if the striker himself wants it. However, the coach stressed that he is not going to apologize for the conflict with Ronaldo.
