Medvedev after disqualification left the top 5 ATP rating
Medvedev dropped to the sixth place in the world ranking. The day before, he was disqualified from the tournament in Beijing because of the ball that got into the fan in the stands

The first racket of Russia Daniil Medvedev left the top 5 ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) after disqualification from the ATP 500 tournament in Beijing, an updated version of the rating is published on the organization’s website.
On October 5, thanks to a successful performance in Beijing, Medvedev returned to the top 5 of the world ranking for the first time since January 2025. However, later he was removed from the points earned in the tournament, and now the Russian with 3,860 points takes sixth place. He was preceded by Canadian Felix Auger-Alyassim (3890).
Medvedev received the withdrawal of points due to disqualification in the semifinals against Novak Djokovic in Beijing. In the second set, with the score 5:3 in favor of the Serb, the Russian lost the draw and repulsed the ball that bounced off the wall in the direction of the stands. The ball hit the fan: he left the stands, holding his head.
After the incident, Medvedev said that he was terribly sorry, it was “100% accident” and he hopes to meet with the victim and make amends.
On September 29, Medvedev won the ATP 250 tournament in Hangzhou, China, beating compatriot Andrei Rublev.
