Ronaldo apologized to the national team and said that he will not end his career
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has said he is ready to be punished by the Portuguese Football Federation and will then be available for challenge to the national team again

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has apologized for leaving Portugal. This is stated in the statement of the footballer published by A Bola.
“The consequences of my actions must be assessed by the Portuguese Football Federation and it must determine the penalty. I believe that the punishment should not be reduced. I'm not just an average player - I'm the captain of the team and that's an aggravating circumstance. I have already apologized, but I understand that actions must be followed by consequences. “Anyone in football, like me, knows that regardless of player status, the rules are the same,” Ronaldo said.
By the end of his career in the national team, the footballer is not ready yet. "I can promise all my fans - and of course, above all the Portuguese people - that we will play one or more farewell matches; there will still be time for that," he added.
According to Ronaldo, he is ready for the challenge to the national team. “So if I’m in good physical shape, playing for my club and hopefully scoring goals, then after the suspension I’ll be ready, as always, to fight and win with our national team,” he said.
41-year-old captain of the national team of Portugal Ronaldo on September 30 left the location of the national team the day before the match of the League of Nations against Denmark (4: 2). This happened due to a conflict with the head coach of the national team Georges Jesouch. In the previous match against Norway, Ronaldo was on the bench for the first time in a long time. 30 minutes before the end, Jesos sent Ronaldo to warm up, but, to the player’s surprise, he did not release him on the field.
As a result, Ronaldo left the team after the coach said at a press conference that “the player did not play against Norway and will not play against Denmark.” He added: “In due course he will tell the truth to the Portuguese people.” Later, the newspaper O Jogo reported that he had made the final decision to retire from the national team. Jesos himself expressed hope that the country will support him against the background of the conflict with Ronaldo, and also said that he is ready to return the player to the national team if the striker himself wants it. However, the coach stressed that he is not going to apologize for the conflict with Ronaldo.
