Metallurg head coach Andrey Razin reacted to the decision of the club management to suspend him from work.
“Today, no comment!!!”, Razin wrote on Instagram (owned by Meta, the company is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia), posting the hashtag “Life is beautiful and amazing.”.
On October 6, Metallurg announced the decision to suspend Razin, 52, from his job as head coach. Acting duties appointed Vladimir Vorobyov.
As the director of Metallurg Alexei Zhloba specified, “there were disagreements between the head coach and the players both on game issues and on the nature of interaction.”.
Razin has headed Metallurg since 2023. In 2024, under his leadership, the team won the Gagarin Cup, and he was recognized as the best coach of the season. Last season, Magnitogorsk reached the semifinals of the KHL playoffs, where they lost to Kazan Ak Bars (1-4 in the series).
Metallurg scored 19 points in 13 matches and takes first place in the standings of the Eastern Conference.
