Finnish driver of the team “Formula 1” Cadillac Valtteri Bottas got from Malaysia to Singapore by bicycle, he said on his page in Instagram (owned by Meta, the company is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
The 37-year-old Bottas decided to forgo the short flight and instead cycled from Malaysian Sepang to Singapore, where the Formula 1 Grand Prix will be held this weekend. The distance between settlements is about 350 km.
The driver said that he arrived in Singapore on the fourth day of his trip, and the total distance given the chosen route was almost 420 km.
During the summer break in Formula 1 he qualified for the world championship in roaring cycling (riding on gravel, dirt, forest roads), taking fifth place in his age category at the stage in the Czech Republic. However, he will not be able to perform at the world championship - the tournament coincides with the Singapore Grand Prix, which will be held on October 11.
The Bahrain Grand Prix, which took place last week at the circuit in Malaysia, Bottas could not complete. After 16 stages of the Formula 1 season, the Finnish driver did not score a single point.
