The players of the Moscow “Lokomotiv” is difficult after the disastrous start of the season of the Russian Premier League (RPL), but there is no panic in the team. This was stated by the goalkeeper and captain of the team Anton Mitryushkin.
Lokomotiv went on hiatus in the RPL with one victory in nine rounds. With seven points, the club is on the 14th place of the RPL standings. The team, which last season became the bronze medalist of the championship, is now in the zone of play-offs for demotion to the First League.
“It is hard for everyone, everyone understands everything. Now you need to score points and correct the situation. There is no disorder or anything, you can see it in our training. Everyone in the team is working as hard as possible to correct our situation. There is no question of any panic in the team, Mitryushkin said.
Lokomotiv changed its sports director in the autumn break. Now this post is occupied by Nariman Akavov. At the same time, the club said that they are not going to change the current head coach Mikhail Galaktionov.
In the summer transfer window, Lokomotiv sold several of the club’s leading players at once, including Alexei Batrakov (he left for Galatasaray), Dmitry Vorobyov (Krasnodar) and Artem Karpukas (Zenit).
In the next round, Lokomotiv will play on the road with Voronezh Torch on October 10.
