Former Italian volleyball player Stefania Corna has died on the 36th year of life. This is reported by Sky Italia.
According to Il Giorno, the athlete died after a long battle with the disease.
On a professional level, Corna played for various Italian clubs, including Bergamo and Parma.
Corna, who played in the positions of the binder and central blocking, twice won the European Championship as part of the Italian junior team (2006, 2008), and debuted in the main national team in 2011.
Korn finished her career in 2014, after which she began working as an English teacher.
