Blogger cheated at the Berlin marathon, using a bicycle

Popular in China fitness blogger Sun Yuanyuan (Abeeeer) caught cheating during the recent Berlin marathon. The New York Times reports.

Abeeeer, who has 530,000 followers on social media, was photographed cycling around the 38th kilometer of the race, which took place on September 27. This information was published by Instagram (owned by Meta, the company is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) Official Marathon Time Integrity Unit, specializing in exposing influencers who publish inaccurate or misleading data on the timing of the marathon.

According to OMTIU, the fastest stretch of the distance Abeeeer covered in the area between 35th and 40th km: it was there that she was recorded riding a bicycle.

As a result, Abeeeer, who previously boasted that she had set a personal record (4:53:46) in the Berlin Marathon, admitted that she cheated during the race. She explained that closer to the finish "felt unwell." Abeeeer said it would not justify its conduct because it had committed a "grossly dishonest act" and "violated the sporting spirit of fair marathoning.".

After that, the sponsor of the blogger, the sports brand Brooks China, broke the contract with her.
