Russian goalkeeper “Tampa Bay Lightning” Andrey Vasilevsky headed the list of contenders for the “Vezina Trophy” – the prize to the best goalkeeper of the regular championship of the NHL at the end of the season, the press service of the league reports.
The 32-year-old Russian received 64 points from experts. This season, Vasilevsky played three matches, two of which Tampa won. He reflected 90% of the shots.
The second is Logan Thompson of the Washington Capitals (48 points), the third is the Russians Ilya Sorokin of the New York Islanders (41).
The top ten also includes Russian Igor Shesterkin “New York Rangers”, who on October 2 became the author of the abandoned puck. He is in sixth place.
Vasilevsky became the owner of the "Vezin Trophy" twice - in 2019 and 2026. The Russian became the third non-North American goalkeeper to win the prize several times, after Sergei Bobrovsky (twice) and Dominic Hasek (six times).
