Russian boxer knocked out in the first round of the Irishman in the championship fight

Russian boxer Imam Khataev defeated the representative of Ireland Padraig McCrory and defended the championship title according to the North American Boxing Federation (NABF) in light heavyweight. The match took place in Quebec.

Khataev knocked out his opponent in the 69th second of the first round.

Khataev defended the NABF championship belt for the fourth time, which he won in January 2024.

In total, the 32-year-old Russian has 13 wins (12 knockouts) and one defeat. McCrory, 38, has 20 wins and three defeats.

Khataev at the Olympics in Tokyo won bronze in the weight category up to 81 kg. He is also the bronze medalist of the 2023 World Cup.
