“My ex-wife is engaged in the sale. Everything to buy me an apartment. I have nowhere to live. I'm living with friends now. Financial difficulties, that's how it happened. It's okay, I'm holding on! said the 60-year-old Tatarinov.
The cost of the collection of medals he estimated at 25 million rubles.
During his playing career, Tatarinov played for the Falcon (Kiev), Dynamo Moscow, Washington Capitals, Quebec Nordix and the Boston Bruins. In the NHL, he played 161 games and scored 69 (21+48) points. With Dynamo, the defender became the champion of the USSR (1990).
Tatarinov also won gold at the 1990 World Cup, where he was recognized as the best defender of the tournament - 11 points (3+8) in 10 games.
Even during his playing career, Tatarinov had problems with alcohol, which intensified after leaving the sport. There were also problems with gambling. In February 2001, Tatarinov was convicted of murder - the creditor attacked him with a knife, and the ex-hockey player took him away and mortally wounded the attacker. Tatarinov served 11 months in prison.
