South African swimmer breaks world record for Russian Kolesnikov

South African swimmer Peter Kutze broke the world record in the 50m back in short water.

22-year-old Kutze won the World Cup in Tashkent with a score of 22.09 seconds. He broke the world record of Russian Kliment Kolesnikov (22,11), which was set in 2022.

Silver and bronze in Tashkent took the Russians Yegor Kornev (22,29) and Pavel Samusenko (22,35).

On account of Kutze gold, two silver and bronze world championships.
