Turkey dismiss Montella after four Nations League defeats

Italian Vincenzo Montella left the post of head coach of the Turkish national team. This is reported on the website of the Turkish Football Federation (TFF).

"The TFF board has decided not to continue working with Montella as head coach of the national team," the statement said.

In September-October, the Turkish national team lost all four matches in the Nations League - France (0: 1), Italy (1: 4), Belgium (0: 3) and again Italy (1: 3).

Montelle is 52 and has led Turkey since 2023. This year at the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, the team took last place in the group, losing to Australia (0: 2) and Paraguay (0: 1), as well as defeating the United States (3: 2).

Montella, the silver medalist of the 2000 World Cup in the Italian national team, previously coached Roma, Catania, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Milan, Sevilla and the Turkish club Adana Demirspore.
