Russian judoka Inal Tasoev won a gold medal in the weight category over 100 kg at the world championship, which is held in Baku.
In the final battle, he defeated the representative of Azerbaijan Ushangi Kokauri.
Bronze medals were awarded to Czech Lukasz Krpalek and Azerbaijani Kyanan Nasibov.
28-year-old Tasoev became a three-time world champion (2023, 2025, 2026), in his asset two more World Cup bronzes (2018, 2019 in team tournaments), three golds at the European Championships (2021, 2024, 2025) and victory at the European Games (2019 in teams).
For the Russian team, this is the fifth medal in Baku. Previously, bronze awards were won by Niyaz Bilalov (up to 100 kg), Sabin Gilyazov (up to 48 kg), Madina Taimazova (up to 70 kg) and Maria Ivanova (over 78 kg).
The tournament in Baku will end on October 11, with a mixed team tournament on the last day.
