Rangers goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin suffered a right leg injury in the match against Washington

NHL club New York Rangers announced that Russian goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin was eliminated before the end of the season due to injury.
30-year-old Shesterkin was injured the day before in a guest match of the regular championship of the NHL against the “Washington Capitals” (1: 3).
In the middle of the second period, the Russian unsuccessfully twisted his leg on moving to the gate bar. He was able to leave the ice only with the help of a doctor and teammates, the Russian could not step on his right leg.
This season, Shesterkin played five games (three wins), reflecting 92.7% of shots. In addition, the asset of the Russian abandoned puck in the game against “Tampa Bay Lightning”.
Shesterkin has been playing for Rangers since 2020, in the 2021/22 season he received the Vezina Trophy award, which is awarded to the best goalkeeper of the regular NHL championship.
