Japanese man breaks seven-year swimming world record
Tomoyuki Matsushita surpassed the record held since 2019 compatriot Daya Seto at the 400-meter complex on short water. The time was 3 minutes 54.33 seconds

Vice-champion of the Olympics in Paris Tomoyuki Matsushita set a new world record in complex swimming in 400 meters in short water (in a 25-meter pool).
21-year-old Matsushita showed at the championship of Japan time 3 minutes 54.33 seconds.
He surpassed his compatriot Daya Seto's 2019 achievement (3.54.81).
Matsushita took silver at this distance on the long water (50-meter pool) and at the Games in Paris, and at the World Cup in 2025, second only to Frenchman Leon Marchand.
