The broadcast of the match of the Russian national team set a record of views in five years
8.6 million viewers watched the Russia-Nigeria match on Channel One. This became the highest TV audience of matches of the national team in the last five years

Broadcasts of three autumn matches of the Russian national team — with Iran, Namibia and Nigeria - gathered a multimillion audience and showed high television ratings, the press service of the Russian Football Union (RFU) reports.
According to the RFU, the most viewed meeting was Russia-Nigeria (3:3). On Channel One, it was watched by 8.6 million viewers, which became the highest television audience of matches of the national team in the last five years. The total audience of the broadcast, taking into account OTT platforms (digital platforms), amounted to 10.6 million.
The Russia-Iran match (2:0) gathered 7.7 million viewers (10.2 million with the Internet). The Russia-Namibia game (6:0) was watched by 6.6 million (8.5 million with a digital segment).
The RFU noted that high television ratings and full stands in all three cities confirm: "the matches of the Russian national team retain the status of one of the most significant sports television events in the country, and interest in the national team remains not only during major international tournaments, but also in friendly matches."
The Russian national team, whose head coach is Valery Karpin, has been holding only friendly matches since 2022 — FIFA and UEFA have suspended it from their tournaments because of the military operation in Ukraine.
