The Kremlin called the deadlock with boycotts of Russian hockey teams
CAS ordered IIHF to allow Russian national teams. A number of countries promised to boycott the matches of the Russian national team. Dmitry Peskov believes that Russia should continue to work patiently

The situation with the reaction of hockey federations in different countries to the decision to admit Russian national teams is “unforeseen and quite deadlocked so far,” Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told Vesti journalist Pavel Zarubin.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on October 30 ordered the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to allow Russian teams to their tournaments. After that, Germany refused to host the World Cup in 2027, a number of European teams threatened to boycott matches with the Russians, and Canada reported that they would deny Russians visas for the world youth championship.
“So far, no one knows what to do, but it is obvious that we must patiently continue to work,” Peskov said.
The IIHF said it did not yet know how to implement the CAS decision and was "examining all available options." The court on November 5, commenting on the IIHF's disagreement with the verdict, said that the international federation was aware of the possible consequences of this trial.
Russian national teams have not participated in IIHF tournaments since 2022 due to the military operation in Ukraine. The Russian men’s team missed the Olympics in Italy and five world championships.
