The International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) has updated the admission criteria for Russians and Belarusians. From the regulations removed the paragraph on the prohibition of participation in tournaments for athletes from CSKA and other sports communities associated with the armed forces.
According to the updated document, athletes who voluntarily signed a contract with the armed forces or national security agencies of Russia or Belarus will not be allowed to compete. In early September, the FIS announced that skiers and snowboarders from these countries would need to sign a declaration of neutrality to compete in international tournaments in the 2026/27 season.
By December 15, athletes from Russia and Belarus must apply for neutral status. If approved, their names will appear on the FIS website. If the Federation becomes aware of a violation of the admission criteria, the neutral status will be canceled.
