The Russian women’s volleyball team will perform at the 2027 World Cup. This was reported by the press service of the national federation.

The tournament will be held in the United States and Canada from August 20 to September 5. 32 teams will take part in it. The All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VFV) noted that the Russian team received the right to participate in the competition due to its high place in the world ranking (11th).

In July, the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) allowed Russians to participate in tournaments under its auspices. A month later, the WFV said the men’s team would not go to the 2027 World Cup “for security reasons.”.

The last time the Russians participated in the world championship in 2018 – at that tournament they became the eighth. The women’s team won the world championships twice – in 2006 and 2010.
