“Now is the moment to step forward and start a new phase in my life. I am grateful to myself for fulfilling the dream and grateful to all the people who were there for me who helped make it a reality. Thank you football for making me so happy, said the 39-year-old.
As part of the Spanish national team, the player played 65 matches, in which he scored 17 goals and gave 11 assists. Together with the national team, Pedro won the World Championship (2010) and the European Championship (2012).
At club level, the forward played for Catalan Barcelona, with whom he became a five-time champion of Spain and a three-time Champions League winner. He also represented England's Chelsea and Italy's Roma and Lazio.
