Belarusian athlete Nikita Dubin became the bronze medalist of the international karate tournament “Marshal Alexander Pokryshkin Cup”, which was held in Novosibirsk, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Sport.
The representative of Belarus performed in the weight category up to 75 kg. In the first round, he defeated Kirill Zyablitsky from the Altai Territory, but in the 1/4 final he lost to Ilya Korshak from the Novosibirsk region. In the battle for third place, N. Dubin was stronger than Yegor Burenka from the Tomsk region.
More than 1,000 athletes from six countries took part in the international tournament – Russia, Belarus, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Ivory Coast and Kyrgyzstan. By the way, the Belarusian judge of the international category Igor Begunov entered the judging corps of the competition.
