Pupil of the Cherepovets Martial Arts Center Roman Tyunyakin won the gold medal of the championship of the North-Western Federal District in kendo

Pupil of the Cherepovets Martial Arts Center Roman Tyunyakin won the gold medal of the championship of the North-Western Federal District in kendo. The tournament was held in Petrozavodsk. Athletes over 18 years old from Karelia, St. Petersburg, Leningrad, Vologda and Kaliningrad regions took part.
Roman Tyunyakin showed the best result in the personal standings among men. Kendo is a Japanese martial art of bamboo swords. The main techniques are stabbing and cutting blows, blocks and exits.
In Cherepovets Martial Arts Center, this type of martial arts is dispelled. Every year, Cherepovets hosts the “Call of the North” tournament, which gathers participants from different regions of Russia.
