Dynamo-Minsk beat Siberia and won the first victory in the new season of the KHL

Dynamo Minsk held the fifth match of the regular championship of the KHL season-2026/2027. “Zubry” took home “Siberia” on September 18 and achieved a victory with the score 4: 1, the correspondent of the Agency “Minsk-Novosti”.

The first period took place in a cautious struggle. The teams created chances at each other's goal, but the reliable game of goalkeepers and the actions of the defense did not allow to open the scoring.

The Minnesotans scored the first puck in the second period. In the 24th minute, Sergey Kalinin hit the goal of Siberia in equal compositions - 1: 0. Successful programs were noted by Bogdan Belkin and Daniil Sotishvili.

Then Dynamo took advantage of the numerical advantage. In the 37th minute, Daniel Lipsky increased the lead of the hosts - 2: 0. He was assisted by Ilya Usov and Chris Tierney.

After 1 minute 18 seconds, Nicolas Obe-Kubel scored the third puck - 3: 0. Assisted by K. Tirni and Dmitry Kuzmin.

In the third period, striker N. Obe-Kyubel realized another majority, completing the combination after the transfers of Stanislav Galiev and Tai Smith, and replenished the treasury of the “dents” with a new puck. The score was 4:0 in favor of Dynamo.

Siberia was able to respond in the 53rd minute. Defender Darren Dietz realized the majority after the transfers of Taylor Beck and Egor Korshkov - 4-1. This puck was the last of the match.

Minsk could have earned another point, but the goal was canceled due to the “out of the game” position.

Thus, Dynamo won their first victory in five matches of this season. For Minsk head coach Sergey Brylin, this success was also the first in the KHL as a team mentor.

- A long-awaited victory. The guys played all 60 minutes today with good dedication. Everyone understood the importance of this game for us and were able, in principle, without much changes, transitions of the initiative to bring the match to victory, said Brylin.

Before that, Minsk lost in guest matches to Dynamo Moscow (2: 3) and Togliatti Lada (2: 4).

According to S. Brylin, the team tried to maintain a positive attitude, despite the previous unsuccessful result.

- We tried to pay attention to the positive aspects. After all, in the first three games we took points, in the first two games we generally led in the score and could count on a victory against Dynamo Moscow. We had to fight back and we got back. In principle, there were many positive aspects. Well, the game in Togliatti, of course, did not go according to our scenario at all. And so they tried to cheer the guys up, direct them in the right direction and instill confidence that they are a good team that can win, the head coach of Dynamo stressed.

The next match will be held on September 20 at the home arena. The rival of the “dents” will be the Yekaterinburg “Automobileist”.

- The team is skillful, well trained. There are a lot of players who can create moments and finish them. We need to keep this energy, the positive attitude that we had today, and prepare for the game against Avtomobilist, Brylin said.
