Dynamo Minsk defeated SKA St. Petersburg in the home match of the KHL regular championship on October 8. The bottom line.

Dynamo Minsk defeated SKA St. Petersburg in the home match of the KHL regular championship on October 8. The result of the meeting in Minsk-Arena is 4:2 in favor of the hosts, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
The first period did not bring goals for a long time. In the 16th minute, SKA striker Matvey Shorty was the first to rebound after the throw of forward Valentin Zykov and sent the puck into the goalkeeper Vasily Demchenko - 0: 1. The young attacker of St. Petersburg was quicker than all on the fifth.

The army gained the advantage, and the owners had to look for the keys to someone else’s defense. And they found them where in modern hockey often decides the outcome of the match, in most cases. In the 29th minute striker Stanislav Galiev took advantage of the removal of V. Zykov and a powerful throw from the left flank stitched the goalkeeper of the army Sergey Ivanov. Equality did not last long: after two almost simultaneous removals of the SKA, the Dynamo team got the opportunity to play “five against three”. It took only 15 seconds for the hosts to punish the opponent. S. Galiyev scored a double in an empty gate and led Dynamo ahead - 2: 1.

At the end of the second period, the SKA showed that it was not going to give up. Forward Nikolai Goldobin in the fall pushed the puck on another striker, Matvey Korotsky, who found Sergei Plotnikov on the pen, and the forward with a throw under the crossbar restored balance - 2: 2. The army kept the intrigue ahead of the final 20 minutes. It seemed the teams would start the third period with a clean slate. But the “belligerents” had other plans.

It was just 10 seconds after the opening throw-in as Xavier Welle got the puck on the blue line and threw on goal. Along the way, the puck changed direction and was behind S. Ivanov - 3: 2. The SKA goalkeeper did not have time to return to the goal after the game on the exit, and the Minskers instantly regained the lead.

Such a start of the third period is a painful blow to the mood of the guests. And at the same time, a great impetus for the owners, who had to competently dispose of the advantage.
In the 50th minute, Dynamo struck another precise blow. Forward Sergey Kuznetsov took the puck from defender Alexei Maklyukov in the attack zone and gave a transfer to forward Daniil Sotishvili. He got the opportunity to throw from close range and did not miss - 4-2.

SKA tried to save the meeting: the coaching staff of Igor Larionov took a timeout, and at the mark of 55:41 replaced the goalkeeper with the sixth field player. St. Petersburg went all-in, but the Minsks withstood the final onslaught and did not allow the opponent to return to the game.
In this meeting, Minsk found its own sniper argument. Forward S. Galiev scored two goals in the majority and recorded an effective transfer. Three points on the "goal plus pass" system is a significant contribution to the victory over a serious opponent. No less important were the goals of K. Welle and D. Sotishvili.

Head coach of Dynamo Minsk Sergey Brylin noted that at the beginning of the meeting his wards were inferior to the opponent in speed and struggle, and also made mistakes when owning the puck. This prevented the team from gaining a foothold in the attack zone and forced them to defend for a long time.
- In the first period, we started a little slowly, did not keep up with the fast SKA strikers, lost the fight and mishandled the puck. Because of this, they were often stuck in their zone and missed a goal that was dismantled before the match. The guys did well, reacted correctly, added in skating, energy and struggle, leveled the game and took advantage of their moments, Brylin said.

According to the mentor, in the second period, the team improved in movement and managed to realize the majority, although it was not possible to avoid mistakes. In the final 20 minutes, Minsk scored important goals and withstood the pressure of the opponent in the end.
- This is a very important victory. We wanted to finish the home series on a positive note, especially against a strong opponent. In the third period, the guys were good: they scored important goals and stood in the end, the head coach of Dynamo summed up.

For the army from the Neva defeat was the second in a row: two days earlier they lost to Severstal with a score of 2: 5. For Dynamo, the victory was a good point in the five-game home series.
Now the “chubrov” is waiting for departure to Yaroslavl, where on October 10 they will meet with Lokomotiv at 17:00.
