Rowing and wrestling: sports cooperation between Minsk region and Georgia reaches a new level

The agreement between the Georgian national sports federations and the sports department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee was signed in Telavi (Georgia) on October 8. This was reported by sb.by in the press service of the Ministry of Regional Executive Committee.

The parties plan joint training, training and sports events. First of all, they will cooperate in rowing and wrestling. Of particular interest is the joint training of rowers: in winter Belarusian athletes will be able to train at the base in Georgian Poti, and Georgian athletes will come to the Zaslavsky rowing canal.

We are talking not only about fees, but also about the exchange of experience between athletes and coaches, sparring and participation in joint competitions, the Ministry added.

The signing of the agreement was part of the visit of the delegation of the Minsk region to Kakheti, aimed at developing trade and economic ties and expanding the presence of Belarusian products on the Georgian market. The main result of the trip should be the signing of a roadmap for 2026-2028 on the implementation of the agreement between the Minsk Regional Executive Committee and the Administration of the Head of Kakheti. The document will consolidate concrete steps to develop regional partnership.
