Kaliningrad surfers won four medals out of six possible at the Spartakiad of the peoples of Russia. Shortboard surfing competitions were held in Pioneersky on the Motyl spot and became the final type of the program.

In the women's tournament, Anna Tikhonova won with 9.56 points. Another medal for the Kaliningrad region was won by Anna Matveeva – she received silver with a score of 8.83 points. The bronze was won by the representative of Sakhalin Darina Nedzelnitskaya with a score of 8.2 points.
Eva Romanovskaya could not go beyond the consolation round and completed her performance at the tournament.
In men's competitions Kaliningrad Evgeny Isakov became the winner with a score of 11.5 points. Maxim Baghdasaryan scored 10.2 points and took second place. Sergey Rasshivaev also fought for the final, but did not get among the prize-winners.
The whole day of competition was spent in a fight between experienced athletes and young surfers.
