Beautiful juggling or copying girls? Love Cherkashin appreciated men's artistic gymnastics

Male rhythmic gymnastics today is actively developing in two completely different ways: courageous Japanese with elements of acrobatics and European, which completely copies the female program with ribbons and clubs. Assessing the prospects of these areas, Lyubov Cherkashyna said that the development of any sport depends on the mentality of the country, so it will not be possible to artificially impose on Belarusians something that is alien to their moral values. The head coach of the national team of Belarus in rhythmic gymnastics said on the air of the program “Markov”. Nothing personal" on ONT.

Lyubov Cherkashin: There are men’s rhythmic gymnastics, but there are two different directions. Here's the Japanese direction - it's a mixture of more gymnastics with certain objects in hand. There's little hoops, ropes, it's more like juggling. There are a lot of acrobatic elements and such movements that we have in aesthetic gymnastics: some waves, inclinations. And it's also a very courageous direction, actually, how they freeze there. Beautiful! By the way, Google it, you'll love it. That’s the Japanese direction – it’s very beautiful, it’s impressive because they’re so powerful as a team. And, of course, there is a second direction, which is developing more in Spain, I think even in France – well, there is a lot of it in Europe. And it is directly one in one like rhythmic gymnastics, which girls are engaged in: that is, with ribbons, with clubs, absolutely the same. That's all a man does. It exists, it already exists, we do not even discuss it. By the way, there are a lot of boys there.”.

The coach stressed that the development of any sport depends on the mentality of the country, so it will not be possible to artificially impose on Belarusians something that is alien to their moral values.

Lyubov Cherkashin: The mentality of the country, its moral values, postulates – all this is taken into account. And how do you throw it all away and say, ‘This is what we want?’ Society should also adopt this sport. And the sport that is recognized and accepted in our country. It must be financed, it cannot live on its own, it cannot survive on its own. Therefore, I do not think that the second direction of men's rhythmic gymnastics will come to us anytime soon. Well, personally to Belarus.”.
