Lyubov Cherkashin explained why in rhythmic gymnastics you can not often change coaches
The head coach of the Belarusian national team Lyubov Cherkashina spoke about the specifics of her sport and explained why football methods of changing mentors do not work in gymnastics.

Unlike gaming sports, where the dismissal of a coach for the sake of “shaking up” the team has long been commonplace, in rhythmic gymnastics, a frequent change of specialists can destroy the level built over the years. About this on the air of the program "Markov". Nothing personal" on ONT said the head coach of the national team of Belarus in rhythmic gymnastics, winner of the Olympic Games Lyubov Cherkashin.
Lyubov Cherkashin: In game sports, changing the coach has become commonplace. Even if a good result, in fact, sometimes the coach changes because the system works differently there, they need a shake-up, the formation of the team takes place in a different way. What are we talking about tonight? Rhythmic gymnastics. It's such an elitist, pointy ... It is impossible to keep the level on a large change of specialists. If you've already picked it up, it takes a long time to line up. Children grow up long. It's a specific sport. It is not easy: it is not enough to learn to be strong, you need to learn to turn, stand in balance, be flexible, expressive, charismatic. There are so many nuances to know! In addition, you will have a refereeing factor, some kind of international arena – and even not an international arena, but domestic competitions. That’s all, including psychology. Well, probably, if we had a shift like ‘The team lost, we change the coach’, it would lose all the time because it would have nowhere to grow up. This is a point, and very rarely in rhythmic gymnastics, the team changes somehow every year at the expense of legionnaires. It is not accepted in our sport, it is its specificity”.
