Milyaev voiced the initiative on student sports at a meeting of the State Council

The Governor of the Tula region, Chairman of the State Council Commission on Physical Culture and Sport Dmitry Milyaev took the initiative to develop student sports. He proposed to add to the performance indicators of the rectors such criterion as the proportion of students participating in the sports life of the university.

“I still propose to think about such an indicator as the proportion of students who generally participate in the sports life of the university, are engaged in mass sports, can be in a club without sports ranks, do not participate in interregional and all-Russian competitions, but can take part inside,” Milyaev said.

He noted that the proposal is connected with the speech of the head of the Ministry of Sport Mikhail Degtyarev, who said that programs for the development of student sports should be created in all regions.

Milyaev recalled that such recommendations have already been sent to the subjects, and proposed to enshrine in the protocol an instruction to complete the development of programs by the end of this year.

Earlier, “MK in Tula” reported that the Governor explained the boom of corporate sports shortage of personnel. According to him, large factories develop gyms and pay employees subscriptions.
