On the site of the former pool “Dynamo” in the Nizhny will soon open a gym

Sports club "Gorod Gorky" settled in the restored building of the old pool "Dynamo", located at the address: Nizhny Novgorod, street. Big Pokrovskaya, 67. The project was financed by the State Enterprise “Regnemovesti” of the Nizhny Novgorod region, which invested more than 226 million rubles, of which 141 million rubles were regional subsidies.

In November, the complex is scheduled to open, where the martial arts sector, a gym, as well as rooms for yoga and fitness classes will be located.

Pool "Dynamo", opened in 1936, since the 90s remained abandoned.

Andrey Gogolev, head of the division of the company "Regnemovsti", said that the club operates on a commercial basis, since the project was developed with an eye to self-sufficiency. However, there is a free boxing section for children.

Sergey Barinov, Minister of Property Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, noted that the investment project was not of interest to market participants, since the object is devoid of land and is not subject to reconstruction. According to the minister, the reconstruction of the building became possible thanks to the support of the head of the region Gleb Nikitin, who approved the creation of a sports club and allocated appropriate funds from the regional budget.

Sergey Barinov said that the repair of the pool was abandoned due to its non-compliance with current standards: the length of the bowl does not reach 25 meters.
