The athlete struggled with the disease for a long time. He was treated in a Moscow hospital, fell into a coma and today, October 10, died. He was 42 years old.

A funeral date has not yet been determined.

Taimazov is a native of Makhachkala. In 2021, he won a gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympic Games. He is also the winner of the 2019 World Cup and a four-time champion of Russia. He holds the world record in throwing a club - 35.42 meters.
