First Urals for the third time took the Governor’s Cup in hockey

The Ural Pipeline team from Pervouralsk for the third time became the winner of the Cup of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region among youth teams in Russian hockey. The victory was celebrated in the presence of more than 20 thousand fans. The Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Denis Pasler congratulated the winners and fans.

Five teams of the Higher League participated in the tournament - from Pervouralsk, Krasnoturinsk, Kirov, Novosibirsk and Arkhangelsk. In four days, the athletes held 14 spectacular fights. The result of the intense struggle was the conquest of the 15-pound Cup by the hosts of the tournament. Silver medals won Novosibirsk “Sibselmash-2”, bronze took Kirov “Homeland-2”.

Denis Pasler stressed the importance of the tournament for the development of sports in the region.

“Such tournaments play a key role in popularizing Russian hockey, increase the interest of children in it and prove that our national sport remains one of the most spectacular and dynamic,” the head of the region said.

Earlier, “MK-Ural” wrote that in Pervouralsk started the Cup of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk region in mini-hockey with the ball among youth teams. Five teams fought for the trophy this year. Among the contenders are the owners of the Ural Trubnik ice from Pervouralsk, who defend the title of current champions, last year’s Mayak finalists from Krasnoturinsk, as well as the youth squads Sibselmash-2 (Novosibirsk), Rodina (Kirov) and Vodnik (Arkhangelsk).
