Swimmer Egor Kornev calls world records "seeds": second in ten days
At the second stage of the World Cup on short water Egor Kornev set a world record in Tashkent at a distance of 50 m butterfly (21.28)

You really did. At the first stage of the World Cup a week and a half ago: he said that it is necessary to accelerate as the competition. We will do our best to make sure everyone sees not one, not two, not three world records, but more. So we are warned, and therefore armed with understanding: Yegor Kornev can.
A world record in any sport is a good slap in the face of rivals. Whether or not it is a star or a star. Yes, slapdash-acceleration, forcing you to look for ways to someone else’s success in order to surpass it, surpassing yourself. Yes, it sounds, maybe abruptly, but after all, sport is always quite concrete, vital and certainly without unnecessary snot. And, if someone really wants to add a share of romance to this definition, the record is like a calling beacon. And it is as in that joke: it will go out, then go out, escape and “work” only for units.
Egor Kornev, despite the seemingly preparatory stage for reaching the peak of form before the Russian championship, and then the World Cup in Beijing (from December 1) on short water, is clearly in shock. Who hit him so much that already in the second stage of the World Cup in ten days he just breaks records, no question. Because the answer is obvious: the talent of genius is bursting into freedom. I don’t want to wait for the main starts. Egor wants, and most importantly, can break world records here and now.
By the way, about the world record for a long time, having set his first at the adult level, said our genius Kliment Kolesnikov: record seconds have more actual weight than just gold. If you win without a world record, you're first, and that's cool. But only for the moment. And the world record proves that you are the best in the world and no one has ever swim faster than you. According to Kolesnikov, to set a record, to be “a head higher than just to win at a distance.”.
Egor Kornev at the first stage (out of three) of the World Cup in short water swimming in Baku began with the repetition of the world record for a hundred meters freestyle, and updated the Russian record for 50 meters freestyle. At the second stage, he came to Tashkent, complained of back pain. At the same time: first received two silvers - on a half-ticket freestyle (20.61), second only to Cameron McAvoy (20.13) from Australia, who set a World Cup record. And at a similar distance on the back (22.29), losing to Peter Kutze (22.09) from South Africa.
And then won gold: at a distance of 100 meters freestyle. Here, however, Kornev alone failed to solo: stopwatches recorded a winning 45.24 seconds. and Australian Cameron McAvoy. These two are just inseparable, which will spur on. But the tribunes liked the words Kornev said later: that sharing the first place, showing the same time, is not quite usual for swimming. And the last 25 meters — so it's a confrontation of two characters. But friendship won in Tashkent.
And then Egor shook a world record without doubles. And he simply stated: I told you, if my back passes, everything will be fine, but they did not believe me. The distance of 50 meters butterfly, or rather, its record (21.32) was owned by Noe Ponti from Switzerland. Now the master of world seconds is Egor Konev (21.28). He did not say that he was “aiming for those seconds.” However, I did not think that there would be a hit in Tashkent.

One world record came to us, the other from us - gone. South African swimmer Peter Kutze, who in Uzbekistan was ahead on a half-ticket on the back of Kornev, did so, breaking the world record. Not someone, but Kliment Kolesnikov, he installed it in November 2022. (Kolesnikov before Tashkent was the holder of the world record on the half-trip both on short and long water.) Kolesnikov's seconds - 22.11 - Kutze rewrote 22.09. Clement himself became the sixth in this swim, but the athlete works according to his training plan.
Kutze himself was a little confused and said that what happened was “some kind of madness.” He's a fan of Klim, and now he's broken his record. (When and to whom did this bother?) South Africa, by the way, regularly gives the world brilliant swimmers: for example, Chad le Klo or Cameron van der Burgh.
