The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has imposed sanctions on the Serbian national team due to “racist manifestations” by its fans.

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has imposed sanctions on the Serbian national team due to racist manifestations by its fans. This is reported by the Football Federation of Serbia on its page in the social network X.
Following the matches of the Serbian team with Greece and the Netherlands, UEFA fined Serbia 129.5 thousand euros. In addition, for one of the nearest away matches of the national team, the departure of fans was conditionally prohibited - with a probationary period of two years. At the same time, the upcoming game against the Germans, which will take place on November 13, the presence of children and away fans is allowed.
We will remind, the national team of Serbia plays in group 2 of League A of the League of Nations. To date, the team has suffered four defeats in four matches: twice lost to the Dutch (1: 2, 1: 2), and also lost to the Germans (0: 2) and the Greek national team (1: 2).
Earlier, the Turkish national team announced the resignation of the head coach – the post was left by Italian Vincenzo Montella, who headed the team since 2023.
