Silver Cup of Russia in classical powerlifting in Karelia

From October 19 to 26, the Russian Cup in classical powerlifting was held in Yelets of the Lipetsk region. The tournament brought together athletes from more than 50 regions of the country.

The national team of the Republic of Karelia took 12th place in the team standings among 40 teams. Our athletes performed well on the all-Russian platform, won a silver medal and updated the records of the republic!

Results of presentations:

2nd place - Marina Zabrovskaya, master of sports, weight category up to 47 kg.

The sum of the triathlon is 330 kg. Marina won a silver medal and set records for Karelia in squatting, deadlift and triathlon sum!

9th place - Sofia Kiselyova, master of sports, weight category up to 52 kg.

The sum of the triathlon is 325 kg. For Sophia, this was the debut at competitions of the all-Russian scale. And just three records of Karelia: in the squat, deadlift and the sum of the triathlon!

15th place - Anastasia Semyonova, candidate for master of sports, weight category up to 57 kg.

The sum of the triathlon is 325 kg. Anastasia also performed for the first time at a tournament of this level and set records for Karelia in squatting, deadlift and triathlon sum!

9th place - Elena Makarenko, master of sports, weight category up to 76 kg.

The sum of the triathlon is 392.5 kg. Elena entered the top ten strongest athletes of the country in her weight category!

What's behind these numbers? In classical powerlifting, athletes perform three exercises: squatting with a barbell, bench press and deadlift. The final result consists of the best scored attempts in each of them. Therefore, each addition to the sum of the triathlon is the result of serious work on strength and technique.

Coaches of the Republic of Karelia:

Anton Viktorovich Solodov, Elena Nikolaevna Makarenko and Dmitry Vasilyevich Makarenko.

Congratulations to Marina, Sophia, Anastasia, Elena and their coaches on their performance at the Russian Cup!

It is especially gratifying that together with the medal, our athletes brought home new records of the republic, and for two participants, this tournament was the first experience of performing at the all-Russian level.
