In Tallinn and other regions of Estonia, there was a shortage of asphalt due to the cessation of the supply of bitumen by Swedish and Lithuanian plants. It's from sb.by.
According to the official, the Swedish company stopped deliveries, saying that the ship, which arrived three weeks ago, will be the last of this year, and the next one will come only in the spring. The Lithuanian company reacted to this by raising prices, after which their plant completely broke down. As a result, Estonian asphalt concrete factories were left without bitumen, the deputy mayor added.
At the same time, the Estonian transport department said that the supply of bitumen did not stop completely, although prices for it increased. However, it acknowledged that no new bitumen shipments are expected from Sweden this year. A significant proportion of residents of the Baltic States expect difficulties with heating in winter
