Sochi Marathon will bring together participants from 477 cities of Russia

In Sochi on October 31 and November 1, the annual athletics competition “Sochi Marathon” will be held. The anniversary season will bring together participants from 477 cities and 83 regions of Russia. In connection with the races in the center of the resort will temporarily limit the movement of transport, and some bus routes will suspend work.

On the first day of the competition, children’s races will be held along the streets of Theatre and Ordzhonikidze to Sokolov Street and back. The route of adult participants will run along the streets of Theaternaya and Ordzhonikidze to the street of Moskvin with the return on the same path.

Traffic restrictions in these areas will be valid from 08:00 to 11:00.

On Sunday, the race route will cover a longer part of central Sochi. Athletes will follow the streets of Theatre, Ordzhonikidze, Moskvin, Nessebar, Vorovsky and the Constitution of the USSR, then go to Parkovaya Street and return to Vorovsky Street.

Next, the route will pass along the Resort Avenue, Egorov and Gagarin streets, through the Riviera lane and the monument “Deed for Life”. After that, the participants will continue to move along the Resort Avenue with turns in the area of Gorky and Black Sea streets and finish at the Winter Theater on Theater Street.

Restrictions on the listed areas are scheduled from 04:00 to 15:00.

On November 1, during the event, the movement of buses No. 2M, 14, 15C, 17 and 23 will be suspended.

Residents and guests of Sochi are advised to consider time restrictions when planning trips around the city center. Motorists should choose alternative routes in advance, and public transport passengers should clarify current information about the operation of buses.
