Athletes from Chuvashia took two golds of the world championship in weightlifting

Representatives of Chuvashia Anatoly Uzyukin and Alexey Ivanov became winners of the world championship in weightlifting, which takes place in India.

Anatoly Uzyukin, a student of the Chuvash State Agrarian University, won the competition in the weight category up to 68 kg in the discipline “push”. This title became his first adult world championship after winning the juniors in 2021.

Alexey Ivanov won a gold medal in the discipline of “break” in the weight category up to 78 kg.

Both athletes train under the leadership of Boris Glinkin.

The head of Chuvashia Oleg Nikolaev congratulated the Gireviks and their mentor on the victory, noting the successful performance of representatives of the republic in the international arena.

The World Championships in weightlifting are held in New Delhi from 4 to 9 October.
