In Bryansk, 20 firefighters took part in the competition “Vertical Challenge”. Participants had to climb as quickly as possible to the 18th floor of an apartment building in full combat gear and with breathing apparatus turned on.

First finished senior firefighter PSCH-10 Oleg Markovtsov. He covered the distance in 1 minute and 40 seconds. Second place was taken by the head of the guard PSCH-3 Dmitry Shemyakin with a score of 1 minute 41 seconds.

The third place was shared by senior firefighter PSCH-12 Alexander Gornostaev and firefighter PSCH-13 Igor Kuznetsov. Both showed a result of 1 minute 53 seconds.

During the competition, a medical worker was on duty. No incidents were recorded.

As noted in the press service of the Ministry, such tests help to assess the physical training of firefighters and their ability to work at high loads. In real conditions, it is important for firefighters not only to quickly reach the scene, but also to save forces to save people and extinguish the fire.
